Background:
Ayame was around five years old when her parents left and never came back. The reason is still unknown. All they left was a decent amount of money to make a living. Knowing this wasn't going to be enough, they started working or helping neighbors to earn money from a young age. She lives with her older brother, Haru. They both slowly learned to care for themselves as they grew up. The neighbors would come and help them clean the house and cook for them. They would provide them with everything they needed. As they grew up, relatives came over a supplied them with money they would need to use in their daily lives.

It was in elementary school, when there was show and tell and Ayame realized she had nothing to bring. It was just because she had absolutely nothing. Having no parents to take care of them involved not spending money on unnecessary things. She saw that all the other little girls and boys brought photos, photos of family...something she didn’t have. She didn’t quite understand why photos were needed, when you had nothing left. Ayame was actually envious of her other classmates being able to bring photos with cherished memories.

Throughout junior high and high school, she had already decided on what she wanted to become. She strived for the best grades and always ranked number one. Ayame and her brother started part time jobs to save enough money for college. What she enjoyed the most was taking photos and being able to keep those memories in the photos. She wanted to be a photographer. Ayame wanted to be able to cherish her own memories of her past in these pictures. As a result, she decided to go to college and take a major in photography. Both her brother and her worked at many part time jobs to get enough money for college. Their relatives also supplied them with some money.

Eventually, she finally saved enough money to pay for college. After three years of hard work, she applied for The Art Project and was able to take the major she loved.
